You do not know what you are missing by not cruising to EUROPE,we have
done it several times,and god willing we will do it again,so many
historical things to see.

Europe- is excellent, but I always land travel there, a cruise would not be for
me.

We've always needed a passport for travel outside the U.S. You even need
one now to go to Canada.
Definitely need one of Costa Rica.
