Met a Filipina ... my best friend

Greetings All:

Here is the short version of J.J. and myself. (Perhaps I can post the long version later, after we settle from the wedding.)

We met in January of this year after I arrived to live in Cebu City, Philippines, to live. She was working for another foreigner at the time, here in Cebu City.

Fortunately, she noticed my good looks and charm ... okay, maybe just charm ... okay, okay! Maybe she felt pitty on me!

Anyway, shortly afterward, we started dating. We quickly fell for each other and moved in together. Not long afterward, I talked to her about marriage, 'down-the-road'. I didn't want to jump into anything, as I was going through a divorce with a Filipina whom I had taken to the US, to live with me. (Another long story.) I have to admit, the thought of marriage again scared me too.

part 2

The longer we were with each other, the more we realized we had in common. We speak and think the same things, at the same time. We also have the same interests as well, camping, walking, movies, etc. I found out, after knowing her for only a short amount of time, that she was my soul mate.

I never believed in soul mates before then. However, I do now, without question. We have been together now, officially since February and are about to marry tomorrow, in Talisay, Cebu.

I know I am the most fortunate guy in the world. You see, I'm marrying my best friend, my lover, and my confidant. I will be faithful to her for life (quite different than many foreigners who come here to live).

I hope and pray that every guy in the world, ends up with the woman of his dreams, as I have with J.J.

J.J., I love you with all my heart, my soul, and my mind. I will be there for you, as long I have breath in my body. I am saying yes, even before tomorrow comes.

Hello to both of you. I am very happy that your marriage work out as what you have expected. Well I just hope i have the same but unfortunately I got the opposite.

I have been married for 3years & have been living in the USA now. I never thought it will end up this way. I just found out that my husband doesn't want to have kids anymore because he already have with his ex's. Anyway Since I was here I never had a friend except for my Auntie & I can't go out without him or one of his sons. Anyway I am tired of it. I ask him if he can slow down his drinking & smoking habits.

This months I am planning to go back in the Philippines which means I can't go back here in the USA for 5 years.

Don't give up ...

Hi Pinay,

Don't give up, okay? Maybe you could just file for a divorce and stay there? If you have been with him this long, and he originally promised you children (as i know most all Filipinas want), then he should be obligated to take care of you in a divorce settlement. 3 years is a long time to be with a man, to finally find out he doesn't want children.

I'm truly sorry for you. I feel as though you are young enough to start over again, finding someone who will truly care for you, and give you children.

Either way, I wish you well. Since I married J.J. (December 14th, 2003), my life has been full of nothing but happiness. I have much, much more with her than I ever had with my previous Filipina wife, who was a selfish, self-centered woman who only wanted to go to the states.

For you, you should not be restricted from re-entering (if you decide to leave the US), because of him.
