CR: Need hotel advice near Arenal Volcano

We (2 of us) will be in CR in 4 days, and we wanted to spend a few
days near/at Arenal volcano. We'd like a place that is reasonably
nice and allows us a good view the volcano from our room (We fully
realize that it could very well be clouded over most of the time we
are there).

We've picked out a few likely candidates: Arenal Lodge, Tabacon Hot
Springs Resort, Arenal Paraiso Resort. Does anyone have any advice
about these places - good, bad or otherwise? Or, are there
recommendations for other places?

Any and all responses are welcome - and since we are leaving so soon,
quick responses are even more welcome. :->

Thanks much,
Mike

Montana de Fuego. AWESOME place. Cheaper than Tabacon resort, but very, very
nice. Individual cabins that all face the volcano. Comfy rooms. Nice spa.
Great restaurant. Pool with swim up bar and friendly bartenders. Free
shuttle to Tabacon Hot Springs (which you really should do. Go about 2 hours
before dusk to get the experience in day and night.) I had a fabulous time
there and all the staff were very friendly. Most front desk and restaurant
staff speak English very well if that matters to you. Expat Hawaiian-born
American there for complex conversations if necessary. IIRC her name is Alohi
or something like that.

MdF was my one "indulge" hotel and it was worth every dollar. I highly
recommend it.

confusing two similar Spanish words.
