Have been a nurse for 26 years and I understand everything you have said. I continue to do nursing part-time while I work to gain my freedom and independence by building a home-based business focusing on health, happiness, time freedom and less stress. It can be done, I will spend less and less time in the nursing profession until I have escaped. My automated system can send you the information if you send me your name, phone# and email address.

I feel your pain. I went to college and graduated with my R.N. at age 41. What a disappointment it has been -- everything you say in your post is true. I, too, found solace in psych nursing for awhile (did it for 3 years), but it finally came down to the fact that I hated my life when I worked in nursing and a change in jobs was mandatory. So I left nursing almost a year ago, and I still feel a tremendous relief. I had to take less pay for the time being, but I am happy and my stomach is not always in a knot!
