Smile My love story.

Well, I'm not sure if I am supposed to give my love story or not, I can't quite tell. But I am going to give it.

So this is the story of how I met my husband, Joe. I know that sounds very cheesy. But anyways, here it is.

I went to a going away party for a friend of mine. I had just gotten out of a really weird relationship. I had never really wanted to get married, but that is beside the point.
So I was at this going away party. My cousin was also there, so I was talking to my cousin and she decided to introduce me to some of her friends (most of them were guys). So I was wearing a NYFD shirt, and the first thing Joe ever said to me was "What does that stand for?" I was thinking OK so this guy might not know what this stands for. So I said "New York fire department." The next thing he said was the funniest thing in the world. He said "What do you work there or something."
We live in Texas. So I said "Uh, no." So at this point he has pretty much made an idiot out of himself. But I am not like most girls. I am a man's girl. I work on my own car and such. So I didn't think of him as an idiot. (Even though he did.) So I sat down and was talking with my cousin, and he was very slick about sitting at our table. He used this little girl that had a major crush on him to sit down; he was "running away from her" and sat down at our table.
So we started talking and after a little while I asked if he had ever played table basketball. Joe said no, so I showed him how to.
For those of you that don't know what I am talking about it is when you take a coin and spin it another person on the opposite side of the table makes a basket with their hands and the person has to catch the coin between your thumbs while it is spinning and toss it into the basket.
So he decided that he would try it and threw the coin. He threw it a little too hard and hit me right square in the middle of my glasses.
I thought it was hilarious. He was horrified and apologized profusely.
So fast forward to the end of the night. I had ridden with my aunt and she was leaving.
So I had said bye to Joe and was about to walk away. No number, no nothing. So my aunt said "Well did you get his phone number?" I told her no, and she said "Well, go and get it!"
So I did.

The next day was Sunday and I had church. He was in a different congregation so I decided that I would go over there and see what kind of person he was. Unknown to me at the time, he was going to my congregation also and his mother had to call him and tell him to come over to his.
So I go over to his congregation and am sitting by myself and a lady in front of me turned around and asked if I wanted to sit with her and her daughter, seeing as I was alone. So I accepted. (Joe wasn't there yet.) I ended up sitting with Joe's mom and sister. I didn't know at the time of course. :P
So after the service I talked with him and we ended up going out to eat with a large group of people. My mom wasn't feeling well and ended up having to calling me to go to the hospital (she couldn't breath, she is fine now). So I had made some plans to go bowling with Joe and some other people that night. I got my mom home just in time to change and get there.
We talked the whole night, didn't even bowl. Oh well, I'm not very good anyways.
The next day Joe called me and invited me to go and see a movie with him. I said yes.
I don't remember much after that. We ate lunch every day together and talked on the phone till 3 AM. You could imagine the phone bill. So two weeks after we met we went to a Seven Dust concert. After the concert we came back to my house and ended up talking outside till about 5 AM. That night he proposed to me outside my house. He told me later he didn't mean to propose at that time, he wanted something more romantic. He said that it just came out.
So in less than 6 months we were married.
We have been married over 2 and 1/2 years and we are still very happy. It feels as if I just got married yesterday.
I just hope that everyone out there has as much luck as I did in finding the perfect person for them.
