Survival Guide for you and your next job

1. Go back to grade school and learn the appropriate grammar and spelling necessary to actually be able to get a new job.
2. Realize that what you point out in your post is true everywhere. It's the same old BS in the corporate world too... except you are beholden to stock holders and executives making millions, while handing out pink slips because the company isn't "performing".

A doctor's note will usually suffice in corporate America when you are unable to work; however, in nursing it can lead to termination... (Is this legal?)
