Question Job Story: The worst job ever! Intelex - ntlx.com

Wow. Sounds like you had a bad experience with this company. Are you still working there?

If you were to do it all over again. What would you do differently?

No I am no longer there. From a few months after I arrived I knew I made a mistake.

I guess I was hoping some of the things I heard before I went to work there werent true or were fixed.

Things I would do differently, is I would search the web for previous or current employees and find out the real dirt rather than believing people in mgmnt who have absolutely no business in management.

Just found your post. I was talking to some ex employees who gave me enough information to definitely warn me from getting involved with these people.

Lots of issues w/ "management". Shared some experiences that made me say NOOOOOO Way do I want to work there.

I was able to locate seven people to talk to who all had very similar issues (management not trustworthy, dont value employees, you are a number, you are there to get one thing done and once it's done you are out of a job....)

Probably would have questioned it if I only talked to one person who had been there, but I found several.

Good Luck, but I would say run and run very fast. Job security is not at all an option there.

I have a phone interview tomorrow with Intelex. I was pretty excited about the possibility of working there but my enthusiam has waned considerably since reading these posts. I thought the phone interview thing was kind of weird; did anyone here who worked for Intelex get hired that way? I guess I will go through with the interview process but with many reservations.

So how was the interview? Told you about the great bonus plan and how the company is growing rapidly blah blah blah I'm sure.

Where are you in the process? If you've taken the job there are SEVERAL employees you NEVER want to make any comment about anything to as they will go straight to management and say you are gossiping or "are trouble" etc. I never ran in to these problems but watched several people who tried to pump some new opinions, ethics, etc. in to the environment and got put on the "trouble maker" list so were ushered out of the company shortly thereafter.

I have been contacted by them for a possiable job. Is there really a management problem or more of not having open lines of communications from top to bottom and bottom to top?

Definite communication issues

You might read through the other forum on Intelex on here as yes there are plenty of issues with "lack of" communication as well as multiple double standards and such. The environment is an environment of complete management distrust as well as employee mistrust (and disgust) of management.

It is not like your normal employer where you dont agree with management but just do your job and go on. There is much more to it than that.

Sales Reps

Does anyone have any information on how they treat the Sales team? I am speaking with them about a sales position. But I have a pretty good gig now. Just curious about how long the average sales rep stays there. Thanks for your help!!

Thumbs down Sales team Information

I was there for more than a couple of years and I will tell you. They are treated pretty civil at first but I have personally witnessed salesmen getting fired after only being employed for a few short months. And, for stupid reasons like disagreeing with the opinions of managment. I watched as one guy was escorted to his office and helped to load his stuff into his car for this reason. I wouldn't advise you to leave where your at for this company. If you ever take any advice from a stranger, take this little bit as true.

There are only two sales reps that have been there with a good amount of tenure and I hate to say how many have come and gone for "ridiculous reasons". I watched several get fired for having an opinion or an idea about how to make the situation and environment better. The work environment is horrible and work/life balance doesnt exist. If you have a good gig now dont leave it for this hell hole.

Read the other forum here on this board on Intelex and you will see some "real" examples of how this company works.

Also look at jobvent.com and type in Intelex. You will see some additional reviews of the company.

My motto is when you see a comment or two it's probably the ex employees problem. However, when you see MANY people with the same issues, it's probably the company with the problem and this company has more problems than I have time to type about.

I know you dont know me, but please take a bit of advice and stay where you are. They wont tell you the whole story and they are good at being on their best behavior during the interview process.

by "Post" <null@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Aug 18, 2004 at 03:01 AM

BLOG THIS ARTICLE

You were already warned to cease and desist with harrassing emails. Take
this and all other emails off your list. Maybe you should find something
better to do with your time as obviously your erroneous information isnt
working since the company has tripled in income and size since your
departure.

That I worked for them for 6 months and was an expectant father first
off;
secondly they will make you work a non stop 19 hour day, many many days on
the road away from your area, no privacy absolut controll of your mental
capacity in reguards to how things should be done. They hire people in
areas
who are desperate, take advantage of them because they need a job; use
them
because if you live in a certain area or they have an order to fill. they
will then process you to death tell you have a "review" make you sighn
your
benefits pakage and then fire you without notice. I had a daughter and had
picked up a job a week before she was born. There Job criteria is also
volitile. Nobody makes LEAD TECNICIAN EVER Now I pull a cross connect and
make 75K a year

Imagine pulling and installing a CVS drugstore, pharmacy, supermarket
with
120 plus cable pulls, that must be labeled to a perfect to-the-letter 568B
NECode. in 4-5 days tested and terminated; then when you finish that and
worked 15 hours they make you run to a location at 12:00 midnight to start
another job on a friday..

Oh i observed they are a bunch of LOW TECH HACKS that talk BS about HOW
MUCH THEY KNOW about the industry and how legitimate they are. they are
NOT
NICE PEOPLE BUT MIDWESTERN DOWN -TALKING WHITE TRASH BRINGING SLAVE
DEALERS.
Look what trash they deal with. I have worked in NY and NJ for close to 20
years; They are hated in New York City and NJ and are NOT liked By local
1260 CWA, Local 164 IBEW, Local 3 IBEW, Local 287 IBEW so dont get your
hopes up high with thinking you may get along with the locals.

THEY WILL DO WHAT IT TAKES TO KEEP YOU UNTIL THE PROJECT IS OVER, THEN YOU ARE GONE!!! I THINK THEY DO NOT HAVE A CLUE, THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE WHO LIKE TO DO CONTRACT WORK. IF THEY WOULD HIRE TEMPS AND NOT PRESENT A TEMP PROJECT AS A FULL TIME JOB WITH A FUTURE MAYBE THERE NAME WOULD NOT GET SO TRASHED!
