Job Story: Nursing ...quitting it soon

Fully agree with you....if a patient hit me, not only would the cops be called, come what may with my job....but the hospital or that patient would fit the bill.
Change doesn't come from kissing ass, just standing up and fighting for what's right. Can you change the world? No, but I like trying.

QUIT

I am an RN. I am really tired of hearing nurses complain about their jobs. If you do not like it, why don't you quit and look for a nursing job somewhere else? There are not all the same and some place are more low stress then others. You can work in a lower stress prone area. My graduating classmate is an RN who works in a call center taking calls and talking to patients on the phone. She makes $29/hour and even encouraged me to work there. But with school (going to grad school), I would rather continue working at my psych. ward because I hardly do any real work at all and it is easy for me to study there. I like my job. I am 24 years old. After my job is done, do not feel tired or have all these mental anguish problems when I go home. My work does not follow me home. I have another friend who also was in my graduating class who works as a private duty nurse taking care of ONE patient. She makes $35/hour (no benefits) and she loves her job. If a hospital is too stressful, then try that?

The bottom line QUIT

I am so tired of hearing nurses complaining of their jobs when they can quit and go somewhere else, even a brand new state. America is wide. There are 50 states in it. If you are not happy with your nursing job, apply somewhere else. If you do not want patient contact, do what my friend does by working in a cubicle taking calls and talking to patients on the phone. One thing about the nursing profession is that there are MANY places to find work. If I got attacked at my job, if I was abused or mistreated in my hospital, I would just QUIT. I would QUIT and walk the hell out. I would not be stupid and stay to only encounter more abuse and injustice and then go online to write about it.

I am sorry if I have offended you. I hope you find something you like.

Dumb ass. Just quit, blah, blah, blah. Who will take care of you or your loved one,in the hospital, if we all quit?

Vancouver community college

Sure you all may hate your job being a nurse but it pays good. So I wanted to be a nurse. I went to Vancouver community college. this is is British Columbia, they say there the best but they are the nastiest whores you will ever meet. They torture you by changing the temperature everyday from freeezing cold to super hot. One instructor pointed a laser in my eye. I told the head of nursing, she didn't do anything. They encourage conflict. They fail minorities and males at rate far greater than white females. They fail entire practicums(Maybe the fault lies with them). On practicum our instructor wanted us to work without breaks, she wasn't happy when we told her we only wanted to be practical nurses, she wasn't happy when we wore plain blue outfits, she wasn't happy where we parked and in the end she failed the entire practicum. It's just not just her though ,most of the staff is whores and they have a self righteous head whore of Japanese descent.
It was fucking goddamn hell, they don't care if your a black man who smokes crack or a hispanic child molester who drugs his victims with ativan(I know stuff). They hate who they want to hate for whatever reason. They decided to hate me so I hate them back.Nurses and instructors who are bitches need to realize that it's

Not sure if you know this (apparently not) but walking out of a nursing job is considered abandonment against your license. Didn't your friend at the call center tell you that?

The ranting message above is very typical of nursing...I would not take it personally
