About how much should I expect to pay from C. De Gaulle airport to the 5e
near the Sorbonne?

My travel agent was quoted $115 PER PERSON for private transfer. I said
"Never mind."

I don't know about the taxis but a van service would be about $35-40 per
person. Or you could take the RER it's a drag & a bitch getting tickets
and hauling luggage but would be about $25 for 2 persons.

I paid 40 euros for my group of four for that trip. Reserved the taxi
in advance by phone, and they sent an English-speaking driver and a
larger-than-normal taxi. No conplaints at all.

Not sure where that is in relation to Place de la Bastille,
but IIRC, a taxi from CDG to my hotel on rue de la Bastille
last September cost me about 55 euro (And I assume they
charge by the trip, not by the number of passengers.)

I believe ¤60 or so is in the ballpark for a taxi these days.

Shuttles cost less. "Rogue" taxis (taxis that aren't officially taxis)
can cost far more. Stick to official taxi stands and officially marked
taxis to avoid the latter.

You can take public transport into town for a few euro, but it's very
awkward with baggage, especially if you are just coming in after a long
flight. A standard, official taxi is probably the best choice.
