gift for Thai

A businesswoman in Thailand did a great service for my traveling
daughter and I would like to send a nice gift from the US. I have
already given at an earlier point a book on the US -- picture book. I
would like to give something that is moderately lavish and not readily
and cheaply available locally. I am stumped -- does anyone have a good
idea -- something that might be well received in a home -- perhaps
something that could be shown off a bit.

Re: gift for Thai

I've heard good chocolate is hard to find/expensive there. When I went
last fall, I brought a large box of good chocolate as a check in gift
for the hotel staff. Maybe they are this nice and helpful to everyone,
but then, maybe not.......

Good idea - last visit I took a load of Cadburys chocolate for the schools I
was going to be visiting. I'm not sure that any made it past the teachers,
though . . . . . .
