France, cold weather to continue through March 6th

Le Parisien posts daily the temperature map of France for the next
several days. It will remain below freezing during the lows
through March 6th.

Temperatures as low as -29.5°C have been recorded in France.

Spring is still not in our predictable future.

Today, the cars in our Parisian neighborhood has some snow
some icy patches on the sidewalks.

Earl

Now Earl, leave me some hope. The 10 day forecasts are showing some
warming starting in a week. I'm hoping for some survival for my Tuscany
trip at the end of next week. At this point I'm glad it was last year
that I went to Paris even with the rain. If it gets really cold I may
be sorry though since there isn't as much indoor choice in Tuscany &
Umbria as there was in Paris.

Excellent!

It snowed for most of the day, but it was too warm for the snow to
linger, and so the streets were wet, but not icy or snowy.

Yes, in the morning they were like ball bearings in silicone oil, but
everything soon melted.

The temperature is not even expected to drop to freezing today
(Thursday), so snowtime is over.

It's snowing quite heavily in Milan at the moment. I love it, but it
makes the natives awfully nervous!

But the report shows that it's freezing now and expected to go to -2
tonight. With snow showers for the next couple of days.

And please get it over with quickly. It's supposed to be sunny Italy.

It will be above freezing during the day, so that won't help.

I don't generally care for freezing temperatures, but if there's going
to be precipitation in cold weather, dry snow seems preferable to slush,
ice, or rain; and that requires temperatures significantly below
freezing.

OK. You confused me when you said that the "temperature is not even
expected to drop to freezing today".
