Scintas? Similar show??

Taking a first time newbie with me to Vegas this coming weekend. Short
trip.

Is there something similar to Scintas? I think she would enjoy that type
show but I don't want to see it again.

My plans are
Comedy Stop
Ronn Lucas
(mac king will be dark while we are there)
Another evening show?? Suggestions?
Afternoon? Maybe Rick Thomas? I have seen this 3 times.. so not excited
by seeing it again.

Looking for under 50.00 each at night! Any one see Society of Seven with
Lani Misalucha at Bally's??

Thanks
Cheryl

I liked the "Platters, Coasters & Drifters" at the Sahara. Three great
singing groups from the 50's and 60's who had tons of hits you'll
recognize. The current singers are not the originals, obviously, but
they put on a very entertaining show. The night I was there the
audience was all ages and everyone enjoyed it. Tix around $42. Don't
know if the half-price booths have this show but it would be worth
checking. The Sahara also is supposed to have some good free
entertainment in the Casbar Lounge.

If you can stretch your budget, I'd say go for "Havana Night Club" at
the Stardust, a big-time show in the best Las Vegas tradition. Tix
around $73 but well worth it. Details at:

1/2 priced tickets to the "Platters, Coasters & Drifters" at the Sahara
are available at Tix4Tonight located at Fashion Show Mall and in the
Peppermill parking lot across from the Stardust.

Rick Thomas has closed at the Tropicana.

How about Forbidden Vegas @ the Westin? 1/2 priced tickets are
available at the discount brokers plus there were ads running in the
LVRJ 2 weeks ago.

Clint Holmes is another option. Coupons for 2 for 1 tickets are handed
out daily at Harrahs Carnaval Court. An other option is the 1/2 priced
ticket brokers.

I've seen the Society of Seven and thought it was one of the best bargains
in Vegas. It is similar to the Scintas. It should be a good option for
you.

Heck, I'll go see them again at 1/2 price. Fun show.

Thanks Frank (and others for advice). I had decided to do the Society of
Seven but then found it conflicted with our Sunday night plans. (they
are dark Mon, tues). Our other days to fill. I don't know,, might end up
doing a flip and trading plans but at least I know I"m on the right
track for something other than Scintas.

Walt, I might see if 1/2 off ticket place that was suggested has the
havana night, the site for them looks very high energy. I have seen many
the typical shows like at the Legends, All Stars, even Viva Las Vegas. I
would love to take my friend to Mystere as that really was something..
but since this was a last minute trip,, air fare was more than I'm use
to paying. Such is life. BUT hey, I'm getting to Vegas!! Nothing to
complain about!!

Thanks everyone, and I did not know that Rick left the Tropicana after
all those years,, He is at the Stardust now. And, only couple times a
week. Wonder how that will fit for him. And wonder if the new guy at the
Trop is any good. Derek something. Nope Dirk Authur. Anyone see him
yet??

Re: Scintas? Similar show??

I doubt if "Havana" will be available at half-price, but you can try.
If you can manage it, it's definitely worth full-fare.

Since your friend's a first-timer, she'll probably enjoy just walking
around and seeing all the sights that she's only seen on TV. So leave
some evening time for just walking up and down the Strip and
resort-hopping. Bellagio Fountains, NYNY, the pyramid, you know the
drill. Oh yeah, don't forget Big Elvis at the Barbary Coast, Tuesday
3-6 PM.
