He's not trying to prove anything simply to call into question the
reliability of those who claim that they do. It is incumbent on those
who make such claims to offer credible proof. You are trying to,
unreasonably, reverse the burden of proof.

It was worldwide news, for those who follow news.

http://archives.cnn.com/2000/WORLD/...n.missile.test/

The Shahab-3 is a medium-range weapon capable of reaching Israel or
U.S. troops in Saudi Arabia. The state broadcast said the test was in
line with Iran's policy of "strengthening its defense capability on the
basis of the principle of deterrence.

They now have a Shahab-4.

I'd start working on a Missile Defence System if I were the EU... cause
the U.S. would be "lend-leasing" theirs.

No, I am simply being ironic, post Iraq style.

A good indication of clarity of thought is the ability to question
things that don't make sense on a basic level. The Bush administration
is currently trying to build yet another irrational case based on
nonsense against Iran. I am betting that within the US, they can
succeed at this.

The Iranians have the sales job to do: Why (sitting on an ocean of
oil) they need to develop nuclear energy for generating electricity.
I'm betting that within France and Germany at least, they'll succeed
in selling it.

The real reason of course is that they want a nuclear deterrent, even
if that is just the uncertainty that they might or might not have
something. It's a strategy that has been used by Israel for years.

I would like to see Iran reform itself from within, without all the
usual interference that goes on. That is the only way that has been
proven to work time and time again. Certainly invasions don't appear
to be a good method if Iraq is anything to go by.

But Iran had a big internal reform when they dumped the Shah.
Mentioning Iraq the changes there might just manage to bring Iranian
rockets within range of Europe as soon as they complete their takeover.
