AVLV -- WTF?

So I get back from a week in Miami today to once again find AVLV in
total chaos, just like every time I go away. A few comments on what I
observed during my brief skim of the thousand or so new messages I
downloaded this morning:

Like everyone else in the world, AVLV is obsessed with Terri Schiavo,
and the mess surrounding this private matter that has been litigated
to (and beyond) the limits of the court system.

The only interesting thing about the whole series of threads on that
topic is that I actually agree with Dick Goldhaber.

Big Mikey continues to demonstrate why he was awarded the "2004 Tool
of the Year" award by the AVLV Readers Congress, and is making a
strong push for a repeat award.

David Berman is embroiled in a heated campaign for a seat on the board
of directors for his development. Perhaps he is in "candidate" mode
but he is taking the ribbing about retirees with good spirits. He
even reacted calmly to being called a Yankee fan. Perhaps the
pharmacy mistakenly switched his Viagra for Prozac.

BR Eagle is in Vegas and cyber-taunted me about an hour ago from his
room at Main Street Station. He is having a fabulous time and is
truly a master at making the most of low-rollers Vegas.

Burt Cohen is back and is only slightly more jaded and cynical than he
was this time last year. The smackdown he took in the SSSOP likely
has much to do with this. Of course, he has another humiliating
defeat ahead of him this year, but we will report more about that
after the fact.

Strevel is, well, Strevel is still posting mainly nonsense but seems
to have purchased a thesaurus.

There is a controversy regarding sapm on AVLV. Let me say that I am
officially, 100%, unequivocally undecided on the sapm issue.

All in all, we seem to be getting further away from the real reason
this newsgroup exists, which is, of course, Chuck Kohlenberg.

Get it together, AVLV. I am back, tanned and rested (well, red and
actually pretty tired) but I don't want to have to start kicking butts
to get a little order around here.

Actually, the lawsuit from his attorney, Jackie Chiles, just arrived on
my doorstep today.

That may be true, but I won't go out against a pair of 3s, I assure you.

Welcome back!

While in Miami, you seem to have absorbed the linguistic stylings of
my man Dave Barry. Good for you and welcome back.

Re: AVLV -- WTF?

I really used to like you Andrew, but as with most lawyers, you just a smart
ass wise guy. It was so nice to see Donald Trump fire that lawyer last
week. She reminded me of what an asshole you are. Make sure you play
everyone against everyone and then hide.

I wouldn't trust you with yesturdays underware.

I agree with A in A on this one. Dick gets a little long in the tooth
on this one.

I'm not sure what TooL of the year is, but I got a feeling that it's
not good. Big Mikey has been somewhat refrained lately.

But that doesn't make OT ok.

Not this cowpoke. I'm sick of the OT posts about it (and all of the OT
posts in general) and whenever I see anything about it on TV I change
the channel. It's all played out and she's gonna die soon...so let's
hope all the "I'm right and you're wrong" debates die equally soon.

I can't believe that people have nothing better to do than crosspost
news stories and long winded editorials of their own to newsgroups that
have nothing to do with what they're writing! Keep it in ON TOPIC
NEWSGROUPS for shit's sake!

Mikey's a pretty good gauge for judging a person - if he doesn't like
someone, there's a pretty good change that the person is interesting,
educated, and intelligent.

Of course, there is the one exception that proves the rule.

Na, I am starting to forget some English / Latin based words. So I am
"using" them more in print and vocally to keep my grammar developed.

First you loose your grammar, then you loose your mind, then one day you
come to and your wandering down the freeway in your baggy underwear trying
to feed the ducks. hahahaha

..mental image... hahahaha

Dumb, Don, very dumb.

Oh, the word is "lose," not "loose." As in you lose your grammar. And
you lose your mind.

Your words, not mine. Most of them, anyhow.

Little by little I am losing my mind. One morning I'll wake up in a Wendys

Keeping my grammar up is real important to me. I try to gain one new word a
