Parking garages

Hi,
I'll be coming to Vegas soon, not the first time I've been but the first
time I've hired a car there (in fact, first time I've ever driven on the
right....).

The 1st 2 nights will be spent in the Imperial Palace, and the final 4
nights in the Monte Carlo (with lots of national parks in between). Can
anyone let me know the best way to get to the parking garages for both
these hotels?

We will be coming direct from the airport to the IP, so directions from
there would be brilliant. If there's any way of avoiding driving down
the strip for either of them, that would be even better...

Thanks,

Paul, UK.

Getting into the IP parking garage can be tricky if you've never been
there before. The good news is that there's a convenient back way in
that lets you avoid the Strip entirely.

Take Swenson north out of the airport.
Turn left (west) on Tropicana.
Turn right on Koval Lane.
Turn left onto Winnick Ave.

At this point you'll see the hotel looming right in front of you.
Follow the road into the driveway that goes under the hotel structure.
Look for the parking signs...you'll need to turn left off the driveway
and immediately turn left again to go up a ramp that leads into the
parking garage. If you drive out from under the covered structure then
you went too far and you're headed for the exit that leads out onto the
Strip.

Re: Parking garages

For Imperial Palace:

Swenson exit from airport north to Flamingo. West on Flamingo to Koval and
north on Koval will take you to the parking lot behind the Imperial Palace.

Personally, I find that just taking the strip south from Flamingo to the
Monte Carlo is just fine.

Re: Parking garages

When out and about consider Frank Sinatra drive. Easy in and out of
rear entrance to Monte Carlo, and a few others.

Paul,

Just to make your trip a littler easier and more enjoyable, don't bother
with the hotels' parking garages: stick with the valet parking. It's free
practically everywhere, at least at all the strip hotels, and a tip of a
dollar or two is all that's expected.

Make sure you make good notes where you parked in
the "IP" as you may never find your car if you don't.

Just ask for a map when you pick up your rental car. The attendant at
the rental agency can draw out the routes on one of the free maps that
all the rental agencies offer to their customers.

Re: Parking garages

Drive slow in the IP parking garage, literally. it is the remolded remodel
of the original remodel....... You can turn corners and turn into a
concrete wall. Just go slow in their garage. Write down the floor and get
a good mental picture of your location.

Thanks to everyone for the tips, have to admit I'm kinda nervous about
getting the hire car stuck in a dead end (a few people mentioned that
one)!! I've checked my maps and found Winnick Ave, so I'll definitely be
going that way.

Re: Parking garages

Best and easiest parking if you're staying on property is use the
valet service.

Re: Parking garages

Where is the valet situated? Do you need to come in from the strip or
can you enter from the Winnick Ave entrance?
