Editorial: more pissing & moaning from 'survivors'

http://www.michnews.com/artman/publ...icle_7401.shtml

Each of the undersigned was born during the 1970's. As members of
Generation-X, each of us survived the abortion holocaust ensuing from
Roe vs. Wade. A quarter of our generation did not. In the name of
medical privacy and personal choice, a quarter of our generation found

itself butchered from the womb. Abortion has claimed more lives among
our generation than the combined effort of AIDS, drugs, and gang
violence. Yet our blood has not satiated the culture of death. In the
name of medical privacy and personal choice, the culture of death now
seeks the blood of our elderly, our disabled, and our terminally ill.
Like Roe vs. Wade, the execution of Terri Schindler-Schiavo is a
defining moment in the culture war. It sets a precedent whereby our
society no longer judges our elderly, our disabled, and our terminally

ill as fully human.

I think impersonating Derek flatters him more than it annoys him.

Doc, to some of us there is a huge difference between a violent
murderer and an innocent helpless baby, enough of a difference for
some of us to believe that the baby should not be killed but the
murderer should. There is a full spectrum of homicide situations
between these two extremes, including such homicides as self defense,
war, and removing life support. Many pro-lifers reject some or all of
those. "Pro-life" is a label that got stuck on (or was appropriated
by) anti-abortionists, but acceptance of some homicides as legitimate
and useful is not an all-or-nothing philosophy.

Yeah but this idiocy is on both sides. Saw a dude a few weeks
talking about how Terri should be allowed to die. He was on a vigil
outside a prison that was getting ready to execute someone. Oops on
boths sides, I guess.

Why would anyone with brain cell #1 not favor the death penalty?
It is 1 definition of insanity to keep people around who kill the innocent.
You want to keep them alive let them move into yout neighborhood and see
how you like it. Then you'll no doubt be singing a different tune.

But do you believe that being convicted of murder is the same as being a
murderer? And if not, what percentage of innocents are you happy to see
executed?

No.

I'm not happy to see anyone die, good or bad. "God takes no pleasure
in the death of the wicked," and neither do I. The question of wrongly
convicted innocents being executed is just one more sad circumstance of
life on earth. I have no answer that will fix the problem.

Funny thing is, people like you invariably favor the death penalty! If
you didn't you would be just as vociferous about that issue, but you
are not.
