Hmmmm.... I know Bush isn't exactly popular in Europe, but
was that kind of extreme "security" REALLY necessary? (Fat
lot of use his "goodwill" mission will be if in the process
he manages to piss off more people than he pacifies!)

He was in Germany; the decisions were made by Germans. If they are too
gutless to say no to the American President, it reflects upon them, not
the President. And hopefully Germans will remember that when they go to
the polls.
