Duty Free Liquor in St Martin?

We are going to Anguilla for 10 nights at the end of May. We are
planning a day trip to St Martin, by ferry. Can we pick up duty free
bottles in St. Martin and bring them back to Anguilla by ferry? Not
looking to get much, just maybe some wine for our room in Anguilla, as
well as any local rum that cant be bought back home in the USA.

My suggestion: Don't bother. IIRC, hard liquor on Anguilla cost
just about the same in EC$ as it does here in the U.S. in US$.

Just go out to Tropical Flower on Long Road and stock up.
They'll even carry it out to the car for you, if you wish.

The European mind-set is not so puritanically hung up on liquor as
here in the U.S. You just don't see the sin-tax approach to pricing.

Just enjoy yourself in St. Martin and don't get bogged down with
hauling bottles around.

Re: Duty Free Liquor in St Martin?

I don't know if you can bring it on the ferry from St. Martin to Anguilla,
but the hard liquor prices in St Martin are WAY cheaper than in the US.

While St. Martin is an islandwide duty-free port, Anguilla's taxes on
liquor are not like they are in the USA either. Its probably not worth
your trouble. You would only save a $ or 2.

In any event, the British authorities on Anguilla allow one regular
bottle of liquor to enter duty free, per person over 18. If you have
to, reserve that for St. Martin Guavaberry.

Yep, you should take a bottle of Guavaberry. There is an original Guavaberry
store in Frontstreet Philipsburg (dutch side) You should travel about 20-30
minutes from the ferry in Marigot (french side) to Philipsburg.
