Re: Schiavo's Parents are fucking insane
Predictable as a clock.
Calm, steady wisdom of the husband...lol.
Here is a guy with a common law wife, two children by her and a wife who
just happens to be the recipient of a court settlement designed to pay
for her care and reabilitation should it be possible. He waits to
remember her secret wish to die until the court settlement is reached.
Then he uses her money to hire a lawyer to implement her wish four years
after the event, but days after the settlement. A divorce would be more
simple, but then the money would stay with the wife.
Steady calm wisdom indeed. Yep, steady and calm as a Peterson.
The woman's crazy self-rightous bonehead parents are somewhat
suspicious. She's Catholic and never expressed a wish to be starved to
death or forced to die of thirst to them, her sister or anyone else
without a direct financial interest in her death. But they're religious
so you can't believe anything they say. What's worse, they're willing to
care for her and try the suggested program for rehabiliation.
What a bunch of boneheads.
If the heroic judge allowed a full pet scan or an MIR (after removal of
some implants) then he could establish she was in fact brain dead, but
no he is on a mission and ignores all but one doctor's report, the one
paid for by the husband's lawyer and successfully uses the letter of the
law to prevent an independent medical review for a decade. That's right,
there is no proof of a vegetative state beyond a reasonable doubt. Of
course, since she has committed no crime she get's no automatic appeal.
Yep, I see no reasonable questions here. Starve the bitch to death and
lets get on with our life. Trot out the next carnival show.
Christ, you guys are amazing.
If we want to kill the weak and helpless and apparently we do, let's
just give her a drug and send her on her way into dreamland rather than
a death by starvation or dydration. The human body, frontal lobe or not,
is going to go through a great deal of agony as it shuts down from lack
of water and lack of food. I love the simple mercy of the judge who as
forbidden anyone to give her water orally or even moisten her lips. I
feel reassured to know that after days of suffering the most desperate
kind of deprivation that her last moments will likely be painless
because the body shuts down just before it dies.
I only hope you experience a similar level of kindness and mercy if you
should be so unlucky to have such a steady calm man of wisdom in charge
of you. The comedy continues.
