Agricultural Restoration in Angola Requires Great Financial Resources
Luanda, Dec 29 (Prensa Latina) The recovery of Angolan agriculture
demands investments for 500 million dollars, especially for work on
hydraulic infrastructure, according to Angolan Agriculture Minister
Gilberto Buta Lukutuca Wednesday.
Lukutuca told the local press the development of agriculture is one of
the main priorities for the government, which wants to increase
cultivated areas and take advantage of the great potential in the
country to produce food, and announced the production of coffee, which
once was one of the main income sources, will be relaunched.
He said that coffee varieties in the provinces of Huila, North Kwanza,
South Kwanza, Benguela, Malanje, Moxico and Huambo would be cultivated.
Finally, he highlighted the importance for developing ways to
exploit the reservoir in Ganguelas, one of the most important
agricultural works.
