The population of these islands is 370,000, and many people are being
evacuated out of there. Last i read there were 3000 casualties in
nicobar alone. There were recording of 6.1, and 6.2 within the last 12
or 13 hours in nicobar islands, india. But what i'm not sure is if
these aftershocks of 6, and 6.2 will have any impact, and if so what
kind of impact.

A mag 6.2 EQ will have an effect close to the epicenter. Take a look at the
"Moment Tensor Solution" AKA "Beach Ball" for any given EQ if shown. The
beach ball will tell you the relative movement of the ruptured fault. There
will be a substantial amount of "After Creep" along the fault/faults
affected by the 12/26 mag 9 EQ & it's aftershocks. The islands will be
affected most as they move with the fault.

The beach ball for the 6.2 mentioned above is at
http://wwwneic.cr.usgs.gov/neis/FM/neic_sqal_q.html

For an explanation of Beach Balls/moment tensor solutions see:
http://quake.wr.usgs.gov/recenteqs/beachball.htm

Oblique & reverse oblique EQ's are responsible for Tsunamis.
