Advice on accommodation in Boca Raton

My niece, a fourth-year veterinary medicine student, will be going to
Boca Raton, for a 2-week training course in February.

Her seach for accommodation has not been successful (hotels at $150 per
night).

I have sent her classified ads I found in the local Boca Raton newspapers.

Any suggestion or recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

louise

If she's going by car she can pick up the Traveler
discount motels coupon booklet or the Florida Travel
Saver booklet and try those.

The Florida Travel Saver I used 2 years ago
lists motels in the Boca area from $40-
to $60- per night.

With "SideStep," I find a Days Inn in Pompano, 9 miles away,
that quotes a rate of $80, and the - 3*- Plaza Hotel Suites
(http://www.bocaratonplaza.com) has rooms starting at $120.
I'm surprised that the sponsor of the course did not offer housing
arrangements. Sometimes, they contract with a hotel for a special
rate. Could she possibly find another attendee to share the expense?

Re: Advice on accommodation in Boca Raton

Thank you for your reply, but my translation of a 'stage' in French is not
a training course but an externship at a veterany hospital in Boca Raton.

I will send her the link you suggested.

Thank you again.

She might be able to find a private weekly home or condo
rental for about the same amount as she'd spend at a hotel.
With the extra bedrooms, she could bring friends or family
along to help with expenses, and a kitchen helps with meals.

A quick search turned up this 3-BR house that rents by week
for $900 ($500 deposit)... www.findvacationrentals.com/6717
I'm not familiar enuff with Boca to recommend this particular
property, but in Florida, weekly rentals of private residences
is quite common in popular beach locations. [R]
