Santiago to Lima overland

:

Hello. I wonder if anyone here can tell me how reasonable the idea of
travelling, mostly by rail, from Santiago to Lima via Bolivia is?

Would three months give me enough time to actually see things along
the way?

there is no train service for passenger from Santiago to north of
Chile. The only way is by road (2050 km Santiago-Arica plus some 1600
Arica-Lima)

Re: Santiago to Lima overland

True. There is no railway. However, there are many many buses that
travel from Santiago to Peru, to Bolivia, and Brazil and everywhere in
between.

Check out www.turbus.cl

Good Luck!
