Dinner on Thanksgiving

My wife & I will be in New Orleans on Thanksgiving day. Can anyone
suggest a good restaurant that may be open for dinner that evening? We
don't want the traditional fare (turkey, etc), French is our favorite
cuisine, maybe someplace with a tasting menu?

TIA

Dan

Most of the major restaurants will be open, but most of the family/local
places will not. The best way to make sure is to locate a few you'd like to
try (see http://foodfest.neworleans.com ) and call them and ask. It's too
hard to predict - but they'll be happy to answer your question.

BTW: Food is a BIG deal in New Orleans. We have an excellent food critic on
the radio each weekday from 4PM to 7 PM (CT) on WSMB 1350 AM (see
http://www.wwl.com/pages/ ). Although not webcast, you can call Tom
Fitzmorris at 504-260-WSMB (504-260-9762) and ask him! He's also the one
with the restaurant info I referenced above.

Re: Dinner on Thanksgiving

Thanks Michael, we're real "foodies", and we're looking forward to our
1st trip to the crescent city! I know it is a great restaurant town.
Some places on our short list so far are Napoleon House, Galatoire's &
Victor's (I'm a little concerned that the more "nationally known" places
like K-Paul's, Antoine's & Emeril's will be to touristy) I'll try
emailing the radio station, maybe the critic will reply with some
Thanksgiving suggestions.
